JOHANNESBURG (PLUSNEWS) - HIV/AIDS activists are concerned that the critical shortage of doctors in Zimbabwe is fuelling the number of AIDS-related deaths in the southern African country.
Susan Mbiriyakura, a counsellor at The Centre, an AIDS advocacy organisation, told a local newspaper, The Standard, that some of the deceased could have survived longer with access to expert medical care, drugs and proper nutritional planning.
She also highlighted cases where HIV-positive people were receiving "wrong medication" from inexperienced doctors.
