The complaint to the Office for Civil Rights alleges the director of admissions for the Lexington Health Care nursing home, 10300 Southwest Highway, told a social worker at Northwestern Memorial Hospital on Dec. 17 that the nursing home staff is not trained to deal with AIDS patients and would not accept the admission.
Ann Fisher, executive director of the legal council, declined to identify the patient or the nursing home's admissions director. Administrators at Lexington Health Care could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
