Students will have the opportunity to express their creativity and help build awareness of HIV and AIDS by creating a poster signifying the importance of World AIDS Day, Dec. 1.
Countries worldwide are observing the day to draw attention to AIDS.
Lake County merchants are donating contest prizes to be awarded in four categories: kindergarten through 2nd grade; 3rd through 5th grade; 6th through 8th grade; and 9th through 12th grade.
An award ceremony to announce the winners is to be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 in the auditorium of the College of Lake County, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake. All contest participants will be invited.
The deadline for entries is 3 p.m. Nov. 13. Entries must be sent to Lake County Health Department, Room 132, 2400 Belvidere Rd., Waukegan. Submissions without an entry form will not be considered.
