The Center for Disease Control has known since 1984 that the spermicidal jelly nonoxynol-9 will kill the AIDS virus, Ann Giudici Fettner reports in a recent edition of The Village Voice.
Nonoxynol-9 has been used by millions of women for decades, Fettner reports, and "is so innocuous it is approved by the Food and Drug Administration as safe for use a spermicide in contraceptive products."
