Medical Services International Inc. Receives Positive Test Results from Independent Testing in Nigeria

Business Wire - November 19, 2002

EDMONTON, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 19, 2002--Medical Services International Inc. is pleased to announce the independent test results on the VScan(TM) HIV Rapid Test Kits sent to Nigeria.

As part of the registration process in Nigeria, the Company was required to send VScan(TM) Rapid Test Kits to the Mainland Hospital for "Infectious Disease" in the Lagos State, Nigeria. The results of the testing from the Hospital show that the VScan(TM) Rapid Test Kits had 100% Sensitivity and 100% Specificity.

The report prepared by the hospital says "The VScan(TM) HIV Rapid Test Kits is highly efficient and has an edge over other screening Test Kits. VScan(TM) is made for an individual patient, thus bringing down the cost and time of screening a patient for HIV 1 and 2. It is also easy to use and interpret."

Nigeria has a significant HIV problem and the results obtained are an important step in the registration process. Once registration is obtained it would be reasonable to expect orders of 3 to 4 million HIV Test Kits per year.
