AIDS Project Los Angeles Co-Hosts California Institute at the U.S. Conference On AIDS 2002; APLA to Distribute California Candidate Survey on HIV/AIDS Policy to 5,000 Attendees

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 2002--AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) and Minority AIDS Project (MAP) are the co-chairs of the Sept. 19 California Host Committee Day-Long Institute at the U.S. Conference on AIDS 2002 (USCA), taking place Sept. 19-22 in Anaheim, Calif. To coincide with the national conference, APLA will distribute its 2002 California Candidate Survey on HIV/AIDS Policy.

Speakers for The California Institute on HIV/AIDS Prevention Policy include the Honorable John Duran, West Hollywood City Council member; Patricia Funderbunk Ware, Executive Director, Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS; Dr. Cynthia Gomez, Assistant Adjunct Professor, Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS) at the University of California San Francisco; and Phill Wilson, Executive Founder of the African American AIDS Policy and Training Institute in Los Angeles.

Co-chairs Daniel Montoya, APLA Director of Government Affairs and Orenda Warren, MAP Director of Health Education, will moderate the Prevention Policy Institute.
