Or did you know that barrier protection and durability of medical gloves were ranked as the top priorities by healthcare workers?
These important pieces of information, along with many others, can only be found in a new end-user survey by the medical market research firm, Frost & Sullivan.
In response to customer demand, Frost & Sullivan proudly presents its first in a series of new end-user surveys, THE U.S. MEDICAL GLOVES END-USER STUDY.
Responses were gathered from a random sample of 349 healthcare workers from across the U.S. Through exhaustive interviews, Frost & Sullivan researchers came across some significant opinions and information.
Respondents were asked about their current usage patterns, benefits and attributes sought from gloves and perceptions of glove-related problems. What the respondents said should prove to be very beneficial to manufacturers in determining future positioning and promotion strategies.
For instance, the use of powder-free gloves is becoming more widespread. A significant number of the healthcare workers reported that they are using powder-free gloves because of quality and irritation issues.
Respondents were also asked to give their views on a variety of issues, including chlorinated gloves.
Comfort and fit were spontaneously chosen as the most important attribute by 213 of the respondents. But, when asked to rank seven attributes that they desired from medical gloves, the researchers received some answers that might surprise manufacturers and consumers alike.
Irritation came out as the most prevalent and common glove- related problem. Healthcare workers said that the glove industry needs to implement more educational and promotional programs to raise awareness of the different medical problems associated with glove use.
