The panel received a petition last week from a nurse connected to an Aids support group protesting a previous decision by the Public Health Ministry, which ruled the drug was ineffective against the disease.
A group of medical researchers who recently studied V-1 also discovered no basis for the distributor's claim that it could improve the conditions of Aids sufferers.
However, the House committee decided barring V-1 as an Aids treatment would be in violation of patients' constitutional and human rights, said Sathit Pitudecha, deputy chairman of the committee.
The agency would carry out further tests on V-1 before questioning individuals connected to the drug, including one-time advocate Pol Gen Salang Bunnag, and senior government officials, he said.
