Vigil marks end of Pride festival

BBC News - August 27, 2007

Hundreds of people are expected to attend a candlelit vigil in Greater Manchester to remember those who have lost their lives to the HIV virus.

The event, at 2100 BST, marks the end of the Manchester Pride 2007 festival.

The vigil is the culmination of the 11 day festival featuring a massive street parade through Manchester city centre.

There will be a minute's silence in Sackville Park, Manchester, followed by a variety of readings, poems and music based around the theme of remembrance.
