A health report has revealed significant rises in the number of people seeking treatment.
The Sexual Health Clinic in St Martins has seen more than a six-fold increase in new clients between 1994 and 2003.
Cases of Chlamydia at the clinic have quadrupled and it has reported a major increase in HIV cases.
The first case of HIV in the Bailiwick of Guernsey was diagnosed in 1994.
Since then the figure has risen to about 37, often occurring in clusters.
The number of appointments at the island's family planning clinic has doubled in the six years up to 2003.
