Fundraiser takes in $3.5 million

Bay Area Reporter - July 23, 2009

Among the crowd at the 23rd annual AIDS Walk in San Francisco was state Attorney General Jerry Brown (in white shirt), with the event's producer, Craig Miller, right, and San Francisco AIDS Foundation Executive Director Mark Cloutier. Brown is expected to run for governor next year, and his opponent in the Democratic primary, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, did not take part in the annual fundraiser as he was in San Diego for that city's Pride celebrations. This year's event drew more than 25,000 participants to Golden Gate Park Sunday, July 19 and raised $3.5 million.
