Something to Cheer about

Bay Area Reporter - July 16, 2009

Representatives from the AIDS Health Project and board members of Cheer SF are all smiles with a $10,000 check to show for it. Presented at the annual awards dinner July 10, it was the largest of several donations made, along with recognition certificates for individual supporters and members. Other nonprofit groups receiving funds from the predominately gay pep squad included the Billy DeFrank LGBT Community Center, $2,000; Santa Cruz Diversity Center, $2,500; the Sacramento Gay and Lesbian Center, $2,500; and the Marin AIDS Project, $3,500. Officials noted that Cheer SF has made a total of $150,000 in donations since 1999.
