And they're off!

Bay Area Reporter - June 4, 2009

Members of Positive Pedalers lead off the eighth annual AIDS/LifeCycle ride Sunday, May 31 as participants leave the Cow Palace en route to Santa Cruz on day one of the five-day trip. This year, more than 2,000 cyclists from 41 states and 14 nations are taking part, supported by a crew of 500 volunteer roadies. The 545-mile journey ends this Saturday in Los Angeles. The ride raises awareness about HIV/AIDS and raises money for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center. This year's ride is expected to raise more than $10 million.
