Face to Face/Sonoma County AIDS Network will hold its revamped Art for Renewed Life Saturday, September 8 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Friedman Center, 4676 Mayette Avenue in Santa Rosa. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the oorganization's signature fundraiser. The event will feature more than 250 local aartists ample hors d'oeuvres prepared by local chefs, and a variety of wines. Tthe silent auction begins promptly at 6.
A public exhibit of the art available for purchase takes place starting today (Thursday, September 6) and Friday, September 7 at the Friedman Center. Admission to the preview is free. Tickets for the Saturday event are $75.
Face to Face provides care to more than 500 people living with HIV/AIDS and their families, and prevention education to the entire Sonoma County community.

BALIF picnic
Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom and Bay Area Physicians for Human Rights will hold their second annual Picnic in the Park Saturday, September 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Dolores Park in San Francisco. The cost is $30 per person at the event.

Magnet's men of color potluck event
Black gay and same-gender loving men and their friends and supporters are invited to a potluck social and dance party Saturday, September 8 at Magnet, the gay men's health center in the Castro. The event is from 7 to 10 p.m. at 4122 18th Street and is free and open to all men over 21. There will be an after-party at the Edge bar.

Commonwealth Club LGBT organizing meeting
The Commonwealth Club of California's LGBT member-led forum will hold an organizing meeting Wednesday, September 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the club's headquarters, 595 Market Street, second floor, in San Francisco. Interested club members and non-members are welcome to meet to plan existing and new programs for the LGBT member-led forum. The new chair of the LGBT forum is Stephen Seewar. He replaces John Lazar, who resigned earlier this summer when he was promoted to a new position with the American Cancer Society and moved to Washington, D.C.
There is no cost for the meeting.
CCOP training session
Castro Community on Patrol, a volunteer organization that runs the community patrols in the Castro and Duboce Triangle, will hold a volunteer training Saturday, September 15 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the LGBT Community Center, 1800 Market Street. Volunteers will be trained on how to patrol effectively in order to increase safety and safety awareness in the Castro. Volunteers work with the police and may report crimes but do not make arrests.
