Red ribbons and baseball

Bay Area Reporter - July 27, 2006

The San Francisco Giants hosted the 13th annual "Until There's A Cure Day" Sunday, July 23 at AT&T Park. Pre-game festivities included an appearance by members of the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus and volunteers forming a large red ribbon in the outfield. The Giants Community Fund distributed grants totaling $80,000 to various organizations that work on HIV/AIDS research or provide support services. The warm weather made for a great day of baseball, although the Giants lost the game 6-5 to the San Diego Padres in 12 innings.
