Charge dropped in Wisconsin HIV-positive sex case

Associated Press - December 4, 2008

SOUTH MILWAUKEE - Prosecutors have dropped charges against a Milwaukee man accused of having sex with a teen without telling her that he was HIV-positive.

Prosecutors decided Wednesday there wasn't enough evidence to convict 19-year-old Rick Allen Brown and the case was dismissed.

Brown had pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree reckless endangerment.

A telephone listing for Brown could not be found Thursday. A message left with his attorney was not immediately returned.

The criminal complaint says the woman claimed the two had sex three times last year, but Brown told investigators he only kissed her on the cheek.

The woman told investigators Brown's aunt informed her Brown is HIV-positive. The woman claimed Brown later acknowledged knowing he was HIV-positive.
