The game is the same weekend as the NBA All-Star Game to be played across town at Staples Center.
Rapper Snoop Dogg and BET music video host Free will coach a team of celebrities. Former NBA players Lucius Allen and Dominique Wilkins will coach the legends team, which also includes Flynn Robinson and Jerry Chambers.
The game will benefit the Magic Johnson Foundation, which raises money for community groups that provide HIV and AIDS education and prevention programs.
"I'm looking forward to a great game," Johnson said Wednesday. "I wish all the participants the best, but as a retired Los Angeles Laker, I'll have to root for Lucius Allen and the NBA West Coast legends."
