The Associated Press - 4 December 1995
The man reloaded his semiautomatic pistol and went back into the house to shoot several times Sunday as children and others fled through windows and back doors, witnesses told police.
The gunman's body was found in the garage. His name was not immediately available.
Police say the girl he was looking for was not at the house when the shootings occurred.
One of the wounded was a woman who threw herself on top of children in the house in order to shield them, authorities said.
The dead and wounded, all in their 20s or early 30s, were eating, watching television or otherwise enjoying a quiet family night at home when the man broke in about 6:30 p.m., police said.
A man whose identity was not released was killed in the driveway of the home. A second man, Timothy Davis, 27, died later Sunday at University Hospital.
That woman who threw herself on top of the children, Brenda Crawford, and a second injured person, Larry Tate, were listed in serious condition at Wilford Hall Medical Center. Kevin McCaskey was listed in fair condition at University Hospital.
