New York, 11. Juni (AFP) - UN-Generalsekretär Ban Ki Moon hat die Welt zum Kampf gegen die Diskriminierung von Aids-Kranken aufgerufen. Bei einer dreitägigen Konferenz in New York kritisierte er am Dienstag unter anderem, dass einige Länder HIV-Infizierten noch immer die Einreise verweigerten. Diese Praxis müsse unbedingt aufhören. "Ich rufe auf zur Änderung aller Gesetze, die Stigmatisierung und Diskriminierung bedeuten. Dazu zählt auch die Einschränkung der Mobilität von Menschen mit Aids", sagte der UN-Generalsekretär.
Nach Angaben von Nicht-Regierungsorganisationen gelten in mehr als 70 Ländern Einreisebeschränkungen für Menschen mit Aids. In einem in New York veröffentlichten Brief an die betroffenen Staatschefs fordern 345 NGO's die Abschaffung dieser Bestimmungen.
