November (AFP) - Ein indisches Gericht hat dem Scheidungsgesuch eines Mannes stattgegeben, der sich von seiner HIV-infizierten Frau trennen wollte, weil er nach eigenen Angaben nicht mehr mit ihr schlafen kann. "Eine Ehe ohne Sex ist ein Gräuel", sagte Richter Rajnish Bhatnagar einem Bericht der "Hindustan Times" vom Freitag zufolge. Da die Krankheit durch Geschlechtsverkehr übertragen werde, könne von dem Kläger nicht erwartet werden, mit der Frau zufrieden weiterzuleben, befand der Richter. Die Ehefrau wurde überdies verurteilt, weil sie ihren Mann nicht über ihren Gesundheitszustand informiert hatte.
Seit einem Urteil des Obersten Gerichtshofes von 1998 sind indische Eheleute verpflichtet, ihren Partner über eine HIV-Infektion zu informieren. Behördenangaben zufolge sind in Indien zwischen zwei und 3,1 Millionen Menschen mit dem Virus infiziert - die UNO geht von 5,7 Millionen Infizierten aus.
