Washington, 6. März (AFP) - Die Tochter von US-Präsident George W. Bush geht unter die Schriftsteller: Die 25-jährige Jenna Bush hat ein Buch über eine mit HIV-infizierte Teenager-Mutter aus Panama geschrieben. Mit "Ana's Story: A Journey of Hope" ("Anas Geschichte: Eine Reise der Hoffnung") wolle sie Kinder zum Nachdenken anregen, sagte Bush der Zeitung "USA Today" (Dienstagausgabe). Das Buch sei nicht politisch, ende aber mit einem Handlungsappell. Es soll im Herbst erscheinen. Sie sei durch ihre unbezahlte Mitarbeit für das UN-Kinderhilfswerk UNICEF in Zentralamerika zu dem Buch inspiriert worden und wolle nun "mit Kindern in Dialog treten".

Jenna Bush fiel bisher zusammen mit ihrer Zwillingsschwester Barbara vor allem durch Berichte in der Regenbogenpresse über ihr ausschweifendes Partyleben auf. Ihren Job als Lehrerin in Washington gab Bush im vergangenen Jahr auf, um für UNICEF zu arbeiten. Die Einnahmen für das Buch will die junge Frau UNICEF spenden. Sie hoffe, dass "Ana's Story" einen ähnlichen Erfolg habe wie "Das Tagebuch der Anne Frank", sagte Bush.
