NIGERIA: Organization to Launch Advocacy Campaigns Against HIV/AIDS in Nigeria

The organization Strengthening Nigeria's Response on HIV/AIDS has announced plans to spend 2.25 billion naira (US $18.75 million) in the coming five years to fight the epidemic. "Nigeria is viewed as a hot spot in Africa due to its population. If properly controlled, the pervasive incidences around the continent will have correspondent reduction," said Charity Laniyan, the group's country director. The effort enjoys the support of the British Department for International Development.
