Sex 1995: 300-Foot Super Heroine Declares 'No Glove--No Love' A New Year's Resolution for Safe Sex
PR Newswire (12/29/94)
Artist Mike McNeilly, known for his issue-oriented Mega-murals across the nation, has completed a 20-story mural titled "No Glove--No Love." The Manhattan mural, one of the largest in the world, bears the Center for Disease Control's National Hotline number, 800-342-AIDS. "No Rest for the Wicked Tonite" warns Bubblehead, the Super Heroine towering over Manhattan. "If you choose to have sex NOW, use a condom...correctly! No Excuses...No Glove--No Love!" There will also be a 30-second public service announcement featuring Bubblehead. The mural is one of four Mega-Murals worldwide and New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Paris will all carry the resolution of safe sex NOW. Currently, 1 million people in the United States are HIV-positive. Each day, 10,000 men, women, and children will become HIV-infected worldwide.
