Washington CTED Awarded Grant to Develop Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS
PR Newswire (12/15/94)
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has granted the Washington state Department of Community, Trade, and Economic Development (CTED) $1 million to develop Housing Opportunities for People With AIDS (HOPWA). The award will allow CTED to help people through contracts with nonprofit organizations and housing authorities in four impacted communities. The grant will also fund research of the housing needs of people living with HIV/AIDS and develop a statewide plan to meet their needs. HOPWA grants provide housing assistance and support services to low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS. The assistance will include a number of measures to prevent homelessness among patients and their families.
