"AT+T Foundation Announces AIDS Education and Support Grants"

PR Newswire (12/29/88)

Abstract: The AT+T Foundation will give $135,500 in grants to nonprofit organizations nationwide involved in AIDS education and support services for AIDS patients. According to AT+T Foundation executive director Edward Bligh, the grants represent support for groups who are doing their best to combat the spread of AIDS. Those groups include the National AIDS Network in Washington, D.C., which received $25,000, the Gay Men's Health Crisis and the Partnership for the Homeless, at $15,000 each, The Illusion Theater in Minneapolis, which receives $20,000, and several others. The AT+T Foundation says it will likely make another similar set of grants in 1989. The Foundation was founded in 1984 to manage the philanthropic activities of the corporation, and is among the nation's largest endowed foundations.
