Some celebrities expected to stop by Kiehl's stores and shop to show support include Emmy Rossum in New York; Rosario Dawson in Los Angeles; Jermaine Dupri and Bow Wow in Atlanta; Ludacris in Washington, D.C.; and Kelly Rowland in Miami.
Over the past decade, Kiehl's has made supporting HIV/AIDS organizations a core cause of its philanthropic efforts. Kiehl's support of YouthAIDS began in 2002, when Kiehl's reintroduced a perennial customer favorite -- Eucalyptus Bath and Shower Liquid Body Cleanser with all profits from sales donated to the YouthAIDS initiative.
In 2004, Kiehl's was honored to be a major contributor at the 15th Annual International AIDS Conference in Bangkok, Thailand. Kiehl's, with partner YouthAIDS, hosted an educational event for Asian media to help disseminate information about HIV/AIDS, its spread, and the dire state of youth and persons affected by HIV/AIDS in the region.
In 2005, Kiehl's was proud to re-label and introduce a second product dedicated to the global fight against HIV/AIDS -- Grapefruit Hand & Body Cleanser. In 2006, Kiehl's turned its focus to encourage fundraising amongst college students with the Kiehl's College Challenge. This incentive-based campaign, raised over $50,000 in 2 months by rewarding college students with Kiehl's products for fundraising programs that raised at least $1000 for YouthAIDS.
Since the initial offering of the first YouthAIDS-dedicated product, Kiehl's programs have contributed in excess of $400,000 to YouthAIDS. By raising both awareness and funds, Kiehl's aims to make a significant impact on the number of HIV/AIDS cases contracted by youth all over the world.
YouthAIDS, an education and prevention initiative of PSI, uses media, pop culture, music, theatre and sport to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS and reach 600 million young people in more than 60 countries with life-saving messages, products, services and care.
