We still don't know enough about treatment issues for women; this conference will offer several important workshops that address HIV health," said Sophie Godley, MPH, Deputy Director of Programs, AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts Inc., one of the conference organizers. According to HIV Surveillance data there are more than 21,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in Massachusetts and one- quarter are unaware of their HIV status. New infections continue at the rate of at least two people a day in Massachusetts, with a rising number of women of color and gay and bisexual men. In Massachusetts, 39% of people living with HIV/AIDS have needle- related infections.
