Antibacterial, Antifungal, & Antiviral Drug Discovery Conferences To Take Place March 11-14, 2002 in Princeton, NJ

PRNewswire - December 3, 2001

PRINCETON, N.J., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The World Antibacterial, Antifungal, & Antiviral research communities will convene in Princeton, NJ this coming March to attend the "7th Antibacterial Drug Discovery & Development Summit" on March 11-12, and the "6th Antifungal Drug Discovery & Development Summit" and "3rd International Antiviral Drug Discovery & Development Summit," the latter two to take place concurrently on March 13-14, announces Strategic Research Institute.

The related meetings are offered in conjunction as part of the "Tri-Anti-Microbial World Summit", annually held in March.

The 2002 Antibacterial meeting features clinical compounds, novel targets, pre-clinical lead compounds, antimicrobial peptides, proteomic and microarray applications, novel screens and assays, quorem sensing, structure-based approaches, aerosolized antibiotics, and bioterrorism -- industry implications, among many other topics.

The 2002 Antifungal meeting features clinical updates on Cancidas, Posaconazole, and Micafungin, as well as new targets, compound classes, proteomic and other genomic strategies, agricultural funcicide discovery, and lipid-based delivery systems, plus other topics. The meeting is co-keynoted by David Warnock, MD, Center for Disease Control & Prevention, and Andreas Groll, MD, National Cancer Institute. Their keynote talks are titled "Epidemiologic Aspects, Management and Prevention of Fungal Infections," and "Antifungal Therapeutics in the Clinic," respectively.

The 2002 Antiviral & Vaccine meeting is organized around discovery and development efforts in HIV, HBV/HCV, HPV, RSV, influenza, and vaccine research & development. The addition of the vaccine section in 2002 expands the scope of the agenda beyond antiviral efforts that characterized the first two meetings.
