WEST POINT, Pa., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The New England Journal of Medicine today published studies that showed that Merck's (NYSE:MRK) protease inhibitor Crixivan(R) (indinavir sulfate) taken with two other AIDS drugs reduced HIV in the blood to undetectable levels (less than 500 copies vRNA/mL) for one year in most patients, with fewer patients taking Crixivan progressing to AIDS-defining illnesses or death than patients taking therapy without Crixivan.
