"The addition of Dr. Reich will strengthen Ligand's development teams," said David E. Robinson, President and Chief Executive Officer. "His experience in developing drugs both in industry and in a leading CRO adds important strategic and execution skills necessary for Ligand to accelerate the development of products already in the clinic and those targeted to enter the clinic next year.
Added to the talented clinicians already on staff, Dr. Reich's experience will facilitate the continued strengthening of our internal organization while we more effectively use CRO's to expand our programs in Phase II/III studies."
Products in clinical trials include ALRT1057 Oral and Topical and Targretin(TM) (LGD1069) Oral and Topical. ALRT1057 Topical is in Phase II/III clinical trials for cutaneous KS and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). ALRT1057 Oral and Topical are expected to enter cancer trials in Europe within the next quarter.
