UCLA Clinical AIDS Research and Education (CARE) Center website - Clinical Trials Open

September 17, 2008

The UCLA Clinical AIDS Research and Education (CARE) Center website is designed to provide regularly updated material to keep up with the latest developments and activities in HIV research and patient care.

The CARE Center started providing services in 1982. In the last year, they have moved into a new and permanent home and are adding new clinicians to the CARE staff. They have also started an Anal Dysplasia Clinic that sees about 60 patients a month.

Along this pathway, they have received a tremendous amount of input and support from people living with HIV and their families, clinicians, and researchers. This collaborative spirit is essential in achieving the goal of eliminating suffering due to HIV.

The CARE Center is investigating HIV through new treatments such as gene therapy and maturation inhibitors. Through their HIV fellowship they are training the doctors of the future to care for people living with HIV and to continue searching for answers.
