AEGiS Announcement - Some good stuff, some not good stuff

AEGiS.org - June 22, 2007

First the not good news....

AOL

Thanks to a few AEGiS subscribers, who rather than unsubscribe from the AEGiS News Service, chose to hit their 'this is spam' button, AOL has permanently blocked e-mail from AEGiS to AOL users. Therefore, AOL users cannot receive our HIV/AIDS News via e-mail, or any e-mail coming from AEGiS. This, of course, has been only one of the many problems we have had to deal with since we first started offering news via e-mail in 1992. It, unfortunately, is the most ugly of the problems. While our DNS guru was able to resolve most of the problems created by this event, the major reason AOL blocked us has not been resolved.

If you want to unsubscribe from the AEGiS news, now, or in the future, and don't remember how you originally subscribed, PLEASE, write to us at and ask to be removed, or for help with managing your account. Also, there are tips available on AEGiS that tell you how to manage your account, please see: http://www.aegis.org/todaysnews/e-mail.html

If you are receiving your news via e-mail, we strongly recommend that you switch to RSS to insure continued reception of the news. For information about how to sign up for AEGiS news via RSS, go to: http://www.aegis.org/todaysnews/rss.asp

And, the good news is...

HIV/AIDS Conference Abstracts on AEGiS

Abstracts from the 8th International Workshop on Adverse Drug Reactions and Lipodystrophy in HIV have been successfully loaded, please see: http://www.aegis.org/conferences/lipo/2006/

In addition, loading of the abstracts from the 2007 British HIV Association (BHIVA) conference has been initiated and will be available soon.

$upport AEGiS

Remember, you can too! Just visit http://www.aegis.org/about/help.htm to see how.

Ralph's Supermarket Chain

The Ralph's community support program is beginning to pay off. If you have a Ralph's supermarket in your area, it pays to join Ralph's Club and enjoy their great discounts. At the same time, if you specify AEGiS (our ID is 80184), we'll earn one to four-percent on every one of your purchases. We earned $30.00 from the program this past quarter, thanks to those of you that took the time to select us as your favorite charity.

Amazon.com

Amazon.com continues to earn us between $100 and $200 a quarter, thanks to those of you that use the Amazon.com icon on the "Help Support AEGiS" page. For us to earn a referral fee you have to enter the Amazon.com site via our icon gateway. Many thanks to those of you that help support our services by making your Amazon.com purchases count.

Combined Federal Campaign

AEGiS (AIDS Education Global Information System) has qualified to participate in the Combined Federal Campaign - this is a donation campaign directed only at federal employees. So, if you are a federal employee, we hope you will consider choosing AEGiS to donate to.
