WORLD AIDS DAY 2003: SEARCHING FOR WMD's (WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION)

AEGiS News Service - December 1, 2003
Elizabeth Canepa

While the leaders of the free world are searching for WMD's, possibly the greatest WMD of the modern world is right in front of them...

This Weapon of Mass Destruction is AIDS!

The latest statistics from the UN is that this plague will have killed 3 million people in 2003. That means more than 8 thousand people each day die from AIDS related diseases and at least 34 million people around the world are living with HIV/AIDS. These statistics should anger the civilized world.

As we have stated in the past, our wish would be that we could turn out the lights and lock the door because there would no longer be a need for our services.

But, on this 15th Anniversary of the first World AIDS Day there is no finish line in sight. The need for our service of acquiring and disseminating critical HIV/AIDS information is needed more than ever.

Won't you please help us in this task by making a generous Year-end donation? Your contribution will be greatly appreciated by those, around the world, who depend on AEGiS for their daily information that helps them in their fight against this plague.
