In the multiple realms that are encompassed by AIDS and public policy, much of the work and much of the inspiration for envisioning and implementing policy is done by an array of "players." Many of them are academic scholars, many are professionals in applied fields, and many are neither. I believe we need an enhanced forum for commentary, discussion of contemporary history of policy and program development, and an exchange of views on applied issues, whether these be policy, social, political, or ethical in context.
