Infragard Los Angeles Security Year End Review

2013 has been quite a busy year for the Los Angeles chapter of the FBI’s InfraGard Members Alliance, a free national education and information sharing program created by and between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the private sector. In the Commercial Facilities Sector, we have seen great training workshops in the areas of body language, deception detection, workplace violence, and mitigation of active shooters. In addition, Infragard sponsored many opportunities including Infrastructure Liaison Officer training as well as promoted opportunities provided by our partners and associates at LA HIDTA, Cal State Fullteron’s Extension Program, CAL EMA, and the Ben Clarke Training Center.

By providing these opportunities to learn how to identify, manage and report potential crime, Infragard Los Angeles has generated a significant portion of the thousands of tips and leads flowing in to the Join Regional Intelligence Center each year. For more information on Infragard, visit www.infragardlosangeles.org.

In addition to the regularly offered workshops, Commercial Facilities stake holders should expect to see opportunities to learn about advanced fraud detection, interview and interrogation, the active shooter threat, and threats against the Jewish world. If you have any suggestions for courses, or would be interested in hosting a workshop please contact AEGIS. A big thank you goes out to our hosts this year: the Skirball Cultural Center, The SLS Hotel, Hilton Universal and Coffee Bean!

Lastly, here are some tips to avoid being scammed this holiday season, courtesy of the FBI.

Stay safe and have a very happy holidays!
