Medical Care and Support

AIDS Community Resource Network (ACORN)
ACORN provides a variety of services for those living with HIV/AIDS in Vermont including case management, volunteer assistance such as transportation, respite, hospital visitation, and help with any day-to-day tasks, including assistance with nutritional care. ACORN also provides support groups, referrals and advocacy and is committed to preventing the spread of HIV through education. ACORN also has limited funds available for substance use counseling, complementary therapies and financial assistance.

Comp. Care Clinic At Fletcher Allen Health Care
The Infectious Disease (ID) Unit is staffed by six full time board-certified physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, dietician, social workers, support staff, clinical research coordinators and infection control practitioners. The staff is dedicated to patient care, teaching and research. The unit has close working relationships with the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Fletcher Allen Health Care (FAHC) clinical laboratory and pharmacotherapy department and the Vermont Department of Health. Clinical care responsibilities include inpatient infectious disease consultations at FAHC, patient care in the outpatient clinic and the travel clinic. The attending staff is dedicated to the teaching of medical students from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, residents of FAHC, infectious disease fellows and regional attending physicians. The unit coordinates the FAHC based infection control and antibiotic stewardship programs.
Providing care for those living with HIV/AIDS is a strong interest for the unit staff. The ID Unit coordinates four HIV/AIDS specialty clinics (Comprehensive Care Clinics) throughout Vermont supported by Ryan White CARE Act funding.

Medical Care and Support

AIDS Project of Southern Vermont (APSVT)
AIDS Project of Southern Vermont provides case management services, family-based counseling, support groups and limited financial and household assistance, as well as funding for substance use and mental health counseling. Clients can also be matched with volunteers to provide additional assistance. AIDS Project of Southern Vermont also serves the greater community through prevention programs.

IMANI Health Institute (IMANI)
Imani's mission is to advocate on behalf of communities of color and low-income individuals, with state and federal health and human service agencies. Imani promotes good health practices, healthy living among all people within the community. Imani is available to provide case management (including discharge planning) and early intervention services, to individuals with HIV/AIDS throughout the state of Vermont. Imani offers limited financial assistance and transportation services.

Vermont Committee on AIDS Resources, Education and Services (VTCARES)
VT CARES Provides advocacy, emergency assistance (including funds for mental health and substance use counseling , transportation and treatment adherence services. CARES also provides social and support groups and information and referral services, and runs a speaker's bureau, and offers prevention and education services including oral HIV testing.
