BACKGROUND: There is an estimated number of 210.000 orphans in cameroon since the out break of HIV/AIDS. With the extension of this pandemy,there is an increasing number of victims;this poses a lot of challenges in the community and various societies for the control of this desease. This program has taken control of 200 orphans and vulnerable children with the collaboration of private partners. Objectives: Give a socio-psychological, mutual,academic and medical supports to orphans and vulnerable children. Mobilise the community and families to assure a favourable environment to orphans and vulnerable children and give them protection against all sorts of social injustice. Methodology: The identification of orphans and vulnerable children in the community. The opening of sites to host children. Reinforcing orphans capacities to develop some mecanisms and strategies for the promotion of their capacities to identify ressources and sollicit for support. Reinforcing of community capacities in the support of orphans and vulnerable children.
RESULTS: support group have been formed, during wich orphans and vulnerable children benefit from mutual support;games are organised,and topics are chosen by them for discussion. Some have benefited from academic support,material and financial help for social reintegration. 50 community have been associated with the aim of implicating them to assist children.
CONCLUSION: Better assist, orphans and vulnerable children regain rapidly the joy of life that characterizes youths. Activities in favour of orphans and vulnerable children should be aptly oriented towards children,families and the community to garantee success for the program.
