DESCRIPTION: Disrimination of HIV positives a major problem in our country & a need to advocate for children's rights. HIV/AIDS is a critical obstacle to achieve rights. The loss of parents by AIDS has an impact on them. Also living with parents who have HIV results in psychological difficulties for children & to provide long-term care for their sick parents. Thus these impacts can increase children's vulnerability to becoming infected with HIV/AIDS themselves & can isolated from their communities. Activities led and results achieved:Programme aims to address vulnerabilities to raise awareness on children's rights and support communities and governments to fulfil these rights. This address the rights to: Survival, development and protectionTo be listened toFree from discrimination. Programmes that target children, such as peer programmes involving the use of theatre. It also aims to ensure that all of its HIV/AIDS programmes involve children and young people in the design and implementation of HIV/AIDSLessons learnt and future stages:It aims to achieve this through applying a number of different approaches, including: 1. working with local communities and volunteers to provide a holistic approach to the HIV/AIDS situation within their community, involving raising awareness of HIV/AIDS, 2. promote behaviour change, improving the quality of support for affected families, and reducing the stigma and discrimination,working in partnership with GOs and NGOs to achieve effective and sustainable approaches to the HIV/AIDS 3. developing culturally appropriate strategies to raise awareness 4. supporting and promoting the active participation of children and young people in the design and implementation of HIV/AIDS programmes.
