The bloodborne pathogens including human imunodeticiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B and C virus (VHB and VHC) have assumed great importance currently, the health-care personnel are susceptible in the work's environment. We aimed to detect the vulnerability of Mediciny's students face occupational exposure with percutaneous injury and management postexposure in the Emergency Unit Armando Lajes. The sample consisted of 80 trainee doctors of institution wich submitted a self-applicable inquiry of opening and closed questions. This researcher observed in loci although of observation map during cirurgical procedure carrying out. The main results were: 73,7% completed hepatitis B vaccine scheme and 2,5% no worrier achieve that prevention. During cirurgical procedure, 33,75% related not recapping needles, but in the sample 11,25% believe that needles should be recap how exposure prevention measure. Checked that all wearing procedure gloves when examine patient wigh exposure risk of body fluids, but the handwash was restrict to after procedure finishing and glove's retreat. Goggles and mask use during procedure in the small cirurgy is rare, the scalpel blade are handle dismount usually the needles are adapt in the needle-holder with fingers. Around 62,5% persons already to have percutaneous injuries, these 44%, occurring more than once. That personnel with occurred percutaneous injuries: 22% reported of collect source-patient's blood; 6% related percutaneous injuries with sterile material; 12%, after exposure, didn't take the necessary presents. Very personnel considered, the unhealthy place: 97,75% bad ventilation; 68,73% illumination inadequancy; 58,75% container for needlesticks and other cuts above higher limits permited. The Mediciny's students is vulnerable figure in this setting because the large probability occurring accidental exposure for ignorance biosafety, standard precaution, and handling clumsiness needlesticks and other cuts.
