Background/Objectives: AIDS is associated with number of highrisk behavior inluding premarietal sexual activities, multiple sexualpartner, heterosexual behavior. The aim of the study was to findout awareness of AIDS among Truck Driver and its high risk behavior relating to AIDS transmission and prevention.

METHODS:98 participant were selected for the study. Aperson of 20 years and above were covered and were interviewed in depth by using semi structured questionaire.

RESULTS: This study reveals that only less than30%of the participant were aware about AIDS irrespective of their educational status, with significant difference between,P<0.05. The initial estimate of the risk for multiple sexual partner who drives long tour or night holding tour was 2.5 times greater than the driver who drives short tour. A higher frequency i.e.40%of participant used drugs during travelling was also found to be associated with elevation in the risk forHIV/AIDS transmission.40%of participant reported that their eager for multiple sexual behavior increases with their increasing age.40% of participant believe that mosquito bite is also one of the cause of HIV/AIDS transmission. A very small number i.e.5%reported that ejaculation of semen outside the genital area after sexual intercourse as preventive measure for HIV/AIDS transmission.

CONCLUSIONS: This study concludes that this group of people have less knowledge about awereness of HIV/AIDS and its high risk behavior for transmission. However so many confusion and false beliefs were reported. This need to be resolved by health education& other educational programme.
