Care for minor girl prostitutes in Togo.

ISSUES: The long socio political crise Togo had known, and the disastrous consequences of AIDS, have created: misery, the dislocation of families, many Aids orphans and other vulnerable children have become heads of families and take care of their young brothers and sisters, minor girl leave villages for city to look for job. Many are negleted by their family, with no support. Children are not sent to school, their medical care and food have become a serious problem. They become servants, bargirls and declared prostitutes. They have many problems: sexually transmitted siseases, and HIV / AIDS.

DESCRIPTION: Training peer educators among the prostitutes minor young girls. Social marketing of male and female condoms Professional reintegration of young girl prostitues and their schooling Medical care -Refering young girls to hospitals-Treatment of STD Counselling for voluntary testing ; nutritional psycholocal and mecical care to positive prostitutes. implementation of counseilling and welcome center for the minor girls prostitute Plead security force to negociate with the minor girl prostitutes Facilitating hospital access card and health record frequent medical visits Implementing network of associations working in field of minor girl prostitution Organising young girls prostitutes into association to defend their rights. Vocational integration of 75 minor girls prostitutes Support for income generating activitities -25 peer educators are trained -12.000 condoms are distributed-80 minor prostitutes are sent back to school -The existence of young girls prostitutes association to defend their rights Young minor prostitutes are frequently paid medical visit to hospital Existence of listening centers, for psychological care and where minor prostitutes are directed. Recommendation: The projet is seaking funds to strengh and extend his activities in order to cover the whole country.
