ISSUES: Non implication of authorities. Children without medical care assistance. Children victim of trafficking and exploitation. Non-implication of social service in the care taking of orphans and vulnerable children to HIV/AIDS. the stigmatisation and discrimination of orphans and vulnerable children to HIV/AIDS are high. Lack of medical educational, feeding and psychological are taking of orphans and other children vulnerable to HIV/AIDS. No written law on the discrimination and stigmatisation of orphans and other children vulnerable to HIV/AIDS.
DESCRIPTION: Advocacy before the authorities. Public awareness. Collaboration with services such as education departments, social affairs services. Medical care taking, prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Assistance to schooling ( school furniture or materials, payment of school fees, alimentation) Organization of activities related to information - education - communication and /communication and change of behaviour( IEC/ CCB). An effective professional center related to sewing and cooking for the training of young orphans who are jobless. Home visits.
LESSONS LEARNED: The authorities involved facilitate the working of the project. People are informed about the care taking of orphans and vulnerable children medical. The medical care taking of 135 orphans is assured. 391 orphans have gained a feeding care taking. 180 orphans have received a training in sewing. 78 Orphans have been trained in cooking. The orphans are awared and informed about HIV/AIDS. The beginning of an elaboration of a law against the discrimination and stigmatisation of orphans and vulnerable children at FOPADESC in Togo. 147 home visits have been organised.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Looking for financing for the durability of the project. Spread the project to other areas of the country. Looking for Godfathers for orphans. The opening of a sector of activities that yields incomes and jobs.
