Int Conf AIDS. 1988 Jun 12-16;4:1.107 (abstract no. PL6)

The paper examines the use of mathematical models in the study of HIV transmission and the epidemiology of AIDS. Attention is given to short and long term predictions, the estimation of epidemiological parameters such as the incubation period of the disease, the potential demographic impact of AIDS in the developing world andthe dynamics of viral replication within an infected person. The lecture will focus on concepts as opposed to technical detail.
