Rodger MacArthur, M.D.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Dr.Rodger D. MacArthur graduated from Northwestern University in 1977. He received an MA from Columbia University in 1979 and his MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1983. Dr. MacArthur received his postdoctoral training at University Hospitals and Cleveland VA Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has served as an Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of Clinical Research at Wayne State University and has worked as an Attending Physician at the Medical College of Ohio and Detroit Medical Center.
Dr. MacArthur has received numerous awards and honors, including the Medical Center of Ohio's award for managing a symposium on "The Clinical Care and Management of the HIV-Infected Patient." He has served on many chair and co-chair positions for the National Institute of Health in conducting research on HIV. These included research into the effectiveness of HAART strategies in HAART-naïve HIV-infected persons and the safety and efficacy of Nelfinavir and Ritonavir when added to Antiretroviral Nucleoside Therapy.
Dr. MacArthur held a committee appointment for the AIDS Task Force from 1989-1995. He was also a journal reviewer for the Journal of the American Medical Association, Academic Emergency Medicine, and the Journal of Infectious Diseases. He also has been widely published, many journal articles, abstracts, book chapters on HIV/AIDS treatment drugs, cardiopulmonary implications for HIV-positive persons, and HIV drug interactions have been accredited to him.
