I had one time unprotected intercourse with a girl of
unknown status. I had chlamydia later and I can't sleep due to worry of HIV. I had
loose stool (diarrehoea) while I was getting treated
with Tarivid (maybe a side effect?). She also preformed oral several times.
Am I at real risk of HIV because she gave me chlamydia?

Dear Well Concerned,
It is true that Tarivid® may be the source of the diarrhea. The only way you
will put your concerns to rest is to take the HIV test. This will be the only
way to determine if you got exposed or not to HIV infection. Also, the benefit
of getting the HIV test done is the opportunity to get more information about
how HIV is passes for person to person and also how you can learn new skills to
negotiate safer sex and how to practice it.
You also need to put your mind at ease and explore in detail with the HIV counselor what happened in the sexual interaction.
Thanks for your question.
