Question:

Hi- I was tested more then anybody else. I am making sure I'm NEG because I was raped on May 4 last year. All my tests are negative. From 8 weeks ELISA and RNA was neg., 6 months neg NAT and ELISA was neg., 8 months DNA by PCR and ELISA were neg, and 10 months HIV RNA was neg and ELISA was neg, 11 months ELISA and Western Blot were both neg , now can I stop?
P.S.- The Red Cross told me I should go out to 12 months, should I?

Sorry for the incident which occurred in your life, which of course can leave people with many scars and ramifications. In your case, however, you can be totally assured you did not acquire HIV. The Red Cross might recommend going out to 12 months, but most authorities would be fine stopping at 6. I would agree with them.
