My doctor suggested I start taking Anadrol (50 ml) to gain weight (10+ lbs.). Due to cost, I found suggested alternatives of Oxandrin and Nandrolone. Are there any +/- in taking one over the other? I'm not sure I want to commit to an injectable, but heard it might be more effective. Heard that Oxandrin can cause some puffiness of the face similar to cortisone treatments. I have a TCell count in the 600's, undetectable and am overall healthy. Age - 53, Weight is 150, 5'10. Currently on a regimen of Truvada and Sustiva, Wellbutrin, (all well tolerated).
Thanks for your opinion.
I'm not sure what your numbers are for testosterone, but being around 50 something, I'd assume your doctor says they are a bit low.
Testosterone supplementation will increase sex drive and energy, and help you maintain body weight. It will also let your own testosterone production fall, and you may find you have to be on "maintenance" for a long time.
To my mind, there isn't really all that much difference from one anabolic steroid to another. I do think that injectables are, in general, more effective, but there is that whole needle thing. I doubt that oxandrin will give you a corticosteroid like face.
