Question:

Hello... I have had unprotected oral sex with another guy, and even though he told me that he is clean and has no STDs, I am still quite paranoid. When we had oral sex, we didn't do it for long. I was probably only doing it to him for maybe 2 minutes. During this time he didn't ejaculate, and I don't even know if there was any precum. But there is a possibility that there could have been? I know that I should get tested, but I'm honestly scared to. So do you think you could help me ease my paranoia a little by simply answering this question: Can I get an STD from precum during oral sex?

It is possible to acquire an STD, such as gonorrhea, Chlamydia, or even syphilis from the sexual activity you describe.

It is much less likely to acquire HIV, and here we are talking odds of 1 in tens of thousands.

Thus, consider speaking to your provider about being screened for STDs, and remember the importance of protected sex as a means of preventing transmission of sexually transmitted diseases.
