Question:

After protected sex encounter I tested negative at 7.5 week and 12 weeks(84 days) through HIV tridot (rapid test) are my results accurate?? Need i test again??

Something which lets me doubt my result is I was on rabies vaccine, would that lead to false negative??

Answer provided by:

Mark H. Katz, M.D.
Regional HIV/AIDS Physician Coordinator
Kaiser Permanente of Southern California

Most people, including the experts, are quite satisfied with a negative test at 12 weeks as being definitive. (Others recommend testing again at 6 months; personally, I do not). There is no known interference with rabies vaccine. Thus, it appears you are negative.
