A search on the Internet for HIV home test kits will produce dozens of results, most not approved by the US FDA. Though the reliability of these kits are suspect, how safe are they ? I mean, can the developer solutions supplied with these kits be contaminated or cause HIV infections to occur ?

Mark H. Katz, M.D.
Regional HIV/AIDS Physician Coordinator
Kaiser Permanente of Southern California
There is no evidence whatsoever that any disease can be transmitted through the use of these kits. They are entirely safe!
Good luck!
Mark Katz, MD
